IMI Practitioner-led Root-Cause Weightloss Program

Addressing the Root Cause to Weight Gain—Both in Body and Mind

Managing a sustainable weightloss can be a challenge. If you struggle with weight issues, then you have probably tried different diet/exercise plans over the years, achieving only temporary success. Most diets don't work in the long term because they are based on reducing intake, causing the body to slow down metabolism in an effort to conserve energy. Upon resuming our usual diet and lifestyle habits, we regain weight, so we start to distrust our body signals for hunger and satisfaction.

So why do we gain weight in the first place?

There is more to it than what you eat, how much you eat, and how often you exercise:

Recent research has shown that inflammation in the gut, food sensitivities, candida and bacterial imbalances in the digestive flora can precede weight gain. These conditions impact the bodies' ability to process food properly, resulting in gaining weight, in turn worsening inflammation and creating a vicious cycle. Other physical factors like blood sugar, hormonal imbalance and metabolism can be related to weight gain, too.

In addition, psychological aspects can be a huge factor in weight gain: stress, poor body image and strong emotions can trigger comfort eating.

A stressful lifestyle also influences our energy levels, cravings and mood, which in turn strains our organs, creates hormonal imbalances, and can result in weight gain.

At IMI we believe in an integral approach to a sustainable weightloss, where the root causes to weight gain—both in body and mind—are uncovered first.

Our caring practitioners combine medical diagnostic tests with natural medicines, nutrition and behavioral-change coaching to get to the root causes of weight gain and provide a tailor-made, long-term diet and lifestyle plan that will keep you at your ideal weight, healthy and happy.

The Root-Cause Weightloss Program Package

weightloss root cause runningIt's a popular notion that weight gain is purely a matter of what you eat, how much you eat, when and why and that sticking to a good diet and exercise regime is the only key to sustainable weight loss.

What many people don't realize is that actually several health or medical conditions may be at the root of weight gain, affecting your ability to lose weight.

Recent research has shown that inflammation in the gut, food sensitivities, candida and bacterial imbalances in the digestive flora can precede weight gain. These conditions impact your body's ability to process food properly, resulting in weight gain, in turn worsening inflammation and creating a vicious cycle.

Other physical factors like blood sugar; hormonal imbalance and metabolism can be related to weight gain too. Psycho-emotional influences such as stress and mood also impact our weight gain, driving cravings, emotional eating and behavioural habits.

IMI's sustainable root cause weightloss program integrates all of the above factors: addressing medical root causes, stress, mood and motivation to design an individualized diet and behaviour change plan that will suit your lifestyle and keep off the weight for the long term.
